Prohibition was the death of the traditional American saloon, and the ruin of many a brewery--but at least it was the making of the Speakeasy. Join us for a talk about the history of how Speakeasies helped the beer-drinkers of Somerville endure the bleak years 1920-1933, led by historian, Dan Breen.

This event is co-sponsored by Somerville Museum and Aeronaut Brewing Company

Since this is at a brewery, the event is 21+. Aeronaut Brewing Company is wheelchair accessible.

Ready to learn about beer with us? Here's the suggested donation link since entry for this event is on a first come first serve basis-- once we are out of tickets, we will not be able to accommodate folks at the door: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/history-of-speakeasies-tickets-62398682138
$10 ticket (suggested donation)*
Somerville Museum members free

*Donation does not guarantee entry; this event is first come, first serve, so come early!
