About We Create

Founded in 2014 by Mar Parrilla, We Create! was born out of a strong need to uplift and showcase BIPOC artists in Bostonespecially self-identified women and LGBTQ+ BIPOC artists.

This unique festival fellowship program offers selected artists and alumni vital resources, including grant-writing workshops, peer and mentor-supported feedback sessions, and a fully produced concert at the culmination of the fellowship.

We Create! is also a multidisciplinary arts festival that has featured hundreds of artists across a wide range of disciplines, including dance, music, puppetry, film, circus arts, installations, visual arts, and mixed media arts.

As we step into our 12th year, we are thrilled to see We Create! continue to thrive and remain a beloved part of Bostons arts community.
