A Halloween Bash Friday the 18th at the Arts at the Armory with
Halloween themed Shorts, Animation, and live music starts the 3-day
event. Costumes Encouraged!

COLLECT.
ABOUT THE SCREAMING OSTRICH FILM FESTIVAL
When it comes to film festivals they all claim to be different. But,
well, we’re different! We’re perhaps the first film festival to
look ahead at what artists will accomplish instead of behind at what
they’ve already done. So come join us for these great films and
together we can imagine what these film makers will be creating for us
in the future! 7+ hours of films, documentaries, animation, and music
videos will fill the weekend. Free networking events and a Free Family
Friendly screening on Saturday at 3pm round out the event.

Doors at 5:30 PM, Networking Party and Music, Films start at 7:30 PM
The Screaming Ostrich Film Festival hatches for its premiere year on
Friday, October 18th at the Arts for the Armory in Somerville with a
Halloween Bash! Doors open at 5:30pm with music from Special Guest,
Stu Nunnery. Screaming… oops I meant film screenings of Halloween
themed shorts (nothing too heavy) start at 7:30, Live Music and plenty
of time to mingle set the stage for a great night! Cash bar will be
available. Costumes encouraged, but by no means required.

Saturday, October 19th, 2019 - Capitol Theatre - 204 Mass Ave,
Arlington, MA 02474
Saturday’s events will take place in and around the Capitol Theater
in Arlington.
Noon - FREE TO THE PUBLIC - Network and Panel Session - Fox Library
A Free to the Public networking & panel session will take place at
12:00pm at the Fox Library. 175 Mass Ave Arlington Ma, right across
from the Capitol Theatre. Writer and Director Johnny Hickey of
“Oxy-Morons” and soon to be released “Habitual” is scheduled
to be taking part on the panel and answering questions. Habitual is a
story about a disguised rave drug, a young group of party-goers, and a
criminally insane mental patient bundle together on a hellbent trip to
an underground rave. Joining Johnny will be Stu Nunnery. Composer,
musical recording artist, actor and activist, resuming his music
career after a 30-year hiatus due to a serious hearing loss.
Additionally, Chuck Slavin will panel as a Pro-Union Film Industry
Partner with over 10+ years in the local New England Film & TV
industry. Chuck is also a card-carrying member of 3 entertainment
Unions IATSE, SAG-AFTRA, & IBEW. Finally, Writer and Director Brendan
Egan will be on hand to speak and/or answer questions. “The Lost
Boy” will be his third film to hit the festival circuit. At just
16-years old, he is one of the youngest registered screenwriters in
the industry.
3pm - FREE TO THE PUBLIC - Family Friendly Screening Session - Capitol
Theatre
At 3pm is a Free 90-minute Family-Friendly screening event at the
theater featuring the award winning "Snowflake." Snowflake is the
story of Jesse, an introverted young girl, struggling with acceptance,
who finds her voice with hip hop music.

6pm - Session #2 - PG Rated - Capitol Theatre
6pm is the PG session where special guest, state Senator William
Brownsberger, will speak about the issues covered in the documentary
"The Battle for Ranked Choice Voting." featured in the showing. Also
screening is “The Lost Boy" by Brendan Egan. At just 16-years old,
he is one of the youngest registered screenwriters in the industry.

8:30pm - Session #3 - Capitol Theatre
8:30pm is a roller coaster of a ride, tearing you through everything
from a serious documentary "The Science of Behavior", potty mouthed
puppets in space "Higher Space" to "Dreams Made Real" conceived,
written, shot, edited, original score, and VFX all accomplished in
only 48 hours by Director Ned Scannell. Boston's Screaming Ostrich
tried to include something for everyone and boy do we have a mix!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20TH, 2019 - ENCUENTRO 5 COLLABORATION SPACE - 9A
HAMILTON PLACE BOSTON, MA 02108
4:00pm - FREE TO THE PUBLIC - Final Neworking and Mingling Session
Sunday is our final networking beginning at 4pm. A casual way to meet
other attendees and possibly the filmmakers themselves. As a super
special guest we currently have Dan Marshall scheduled to attend. Dan
has only recently produced a new Netflix series for the rest of us to
binge watch! The time also offers a chance to reflect back on the
weekend before the Closing Night finale begins.
6:30pm - R-Rated Session and at the Enceuntro5 location at 9a Hamilton
Place Boston Ma.
This session is R-rated (18 and over). Rod Webber will be hosting his
latest work, "Straight Pride is Hate Pride." Also scheduled is
"Paying Up", a highly controversial film with a powerful statement on
drug addiction.

5’s fault, they’re renters themselves. The encuentro 5
collaboration space it is down the alley where the Orpheum theater is
