Accreditation
The AANS is accreditated by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Attendees can earn 2 AMA PRA Category 1 credit for all dinner symposia. Physicians can claim the credit commensurate based on the extent of their participation.
CME credits for electronic presentation -
Physicians may claim the category 1 credits directly with the American Medical Association for creating an electronic presentation. Physicians can claim the category 2 credits for viewing scientific electronic presentations.
CME for Advanced practitioners -
PAs may obtain a certificate of attendance that can be submitted to the American Academy of physician assistants towards physician assistant category 1 (pre-approved) CME requirement.
