The WORCESTER Youth Orchestras is please to present the 2025 STRING
FEST, a collaborative concert with the WORCESTER Youth Philharmonic
STRINGS & STRING ORCHESTRA, Quabbin Regional School District STRING
PROGRAM. The performance is a capstone, representing a year long
program generously funded by the Greater WORCESTER Community
Foundation through their Community Grant Projects.Over the course of
the year, WYO & Quabbin have benefited from an Artist-in-Residence,
Patrick Chatham, who has visited Ruggles Elementary School (Barre)
each week to work side by side with young string students during the
regular school day, as well as attending WYO rehearsals and working
string students in the Philharmonic & String Orchestra. Funding from
the GWCF provided complimentary instruction and strengthened access to
education, working in tandem with Quabbin educators.
Today's performance is the culmination of this year's work amongst all
programs, forging new relationships and opportunities for students in
the Worcester and Quabbin Region. The program was designed and funded
to strengthen community access to the arts.
