Join US for our RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SESSION! We will bring a stack of
RUSSIAN LANGUAGE BOOKS AND STUDY MATERIALS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO
REFERENCE THEM DURING OUR TIME. Come to PRACTICE SPEAKING RUSSIAN OR
FOR HELP WITH ANY RUSSIAN LANGUAGE PROBLEMS YOU RE CURRENTLY
EXPERIENCING. We can t promise to have all the solutions, but
hopefully we can connect you to the right resources!• Our Agenda
Our meetups usually follow this rough pattern:
7–7:15—Members arrive.
7:15–7:30—Introductions. We go around the table and say a little
about ourselves, how long we ve been studying RUSSIAN, and how we
became interested in the LANGUAGE AND CULTURE. We encourage members to
make their introductions in RUSSIAN, but if you re a beginner, it is
fine to speak in English.
7:30–8:15—Discussion on our week s topic: Thanksgiving,
university. We have a short break at 8:00.
8:15–9:00—Informal conversation and housekeeping.
During conversations, we take turns translating for the group. This
helps everyone follow the conversation (even if their Russian skills
aren t very developed), and keeps us all focused on building our
comprehension skills. It also gives positive feedback to the speaker
that they were speaking intelligibly to the group.
• What to bring
Anything to help you with Russian: a textbook, paper, notepad, laptop,
or just yourself! If you would like to write a few paragraphs on the
week s theme, you are welcome to bring that along. If you can t stay
for the whole session, it s perfectly acceptable to come for what you
can. If that means arriving a little late or leaving a little early,
don t worry about it.
• Stay in touch outside meetup
We started a Signal chat group for staying in touch and sharing
material, including content that we can study and learn from during
our meets. Give us a heads up and we can invite your phone number to
the group.
• Important to know
Cultivate can sometimes get busy, so be sure to check the beer garden
out back. There will be a "Russian Language Meetup" whiteboard on the
table. Parking can get a little complicated on busy nights.
