Jr High Workshop runs Monday evening January 27th from 6pm-9pm and
then Tuesday January 28th from 8am-2pm with a performance on the
Macomb Center mainstage at 7:30pm. The Workshop is an opportunity for
top students to learn music in class with their teachers, then at the
workshop work with Vocal Clinician Todd Moses, Director of The
Macombers, who will enhance the workshop experience by coaching the
choir consisting of top students from Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, and
Wayne counties. This year, joining us for the first time, is
Choreographer Jason Johnson! Jason is a graduate of Ball State
University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in both Choral
and Instrumental Music Education. While at Ball State he was a
five-year member, choreographer, and dance captain of the
nationally-renowned Ball State Singers. This season will mark
Jason’s 35th year choreographing competitive show choirs. During
this time his groups consistently have been finalists as well as
receiving “Grand Champion” and “Best Choreography” awards
numerous times. In addition to choreographing at the high school and
university levels Jason has also choreographed for Cedar Point,
Radisson Cruise Lines, and the Steve Gatlin Christmas Show in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina. *Please note that performances may include
flashing (strobe) lighting and haze effects. Students who have
sensitivities should alert the education and outreach team prior to
