understanding African rulership and how it both influenced and is
different from other cultures' ideas of rulership.

tour of the ROYAL AND DYNASTIC ARTIFACTS IN THE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN AND
AFRICAN EXHIBITS AT THE Detroit Institute of Arts

This tour will give an IN-DEPTH lesson in AFRICAN CULTURE AND HISTORY
AND HOW IT HELPS US TO UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET THE AFRICAN ART AND
ARTIFACTS IN THE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN AND AFRICAN GALLERIES AT THE DIA.
We will meet at the John R. entrance of the DIA. The DIA is free for
Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County residents, but there is a small fee
for the lecture tour.
The prices are:
$20 - adult (13 & older)
$15 - children (9-12)
8 yrs old or younger - FREE
Recommended parking is at the DIA parking lot ($9) on John R. between
Frederick & Farnsworth. Street parking is FREE on Sundays & Holidays.
This tour takes place at the DIA, but neither the Tour Leader or Black
Scroll Network History & Tours are affiliated with, sponsored by or
employed by the Detroit Institute of Arts. This tour is being led by a
historian of African culture and history.
