Youth Intro to Sewing Machine offers an introduction to operating the
sewing machine, focusing on safe and effective use of the machine,
including winding the bobbin, threading the machine and executing
straight and zig-zag stitches to sew seams on cloth. Over four weeks,
students will become familiar with essential sewing machine parts and
practice safe use of the machine. This course will be conducted by
Artist and sewing instructor Melly Kellogg. If you have a working
sewing machine at home, you are encouraged to bring it to use in
class. If not, we have sewing machines for you to use. Participants in
the Sew Fun course may attend our Open Sewing Labs, where participants
can bring in their own sewing projects to work on, get help with
troubleshooting, and sewing ideas from sewing experts! Full and
Partial Scholarship options are available for REACH youth classes.
Scholarship amounts will be reflected at checkout if you complete the
scholarship section of the registration form and if the remaining
scholarships are still available. Participants in Sew Fun course may
