There are many ways to volunteer. Our exceptional volunteers can share
their knowledge and experiences with our staff and help the animals in
more ways than we could do alone. We appreciate all of the help and
support those of you in the community are able to give.We value and
appreciate our volunteers in more ways than we can say. All of the
work and help they give us at the shelter, with the animals, at the
thrift store, and in our programs and events is _priceless. _Their
work greatly improves our organization and touches the lives of all of
the animals we care for.

HOW TO VOLUNTEER:
Volunteering Guidelines at HSMC:
* Anyone interested in volunteering must complete a volunteer
application form.
* Depending on the activity, a new volunteer may need to attend
a training session as part of our volunteer program. This will be
based on the event or activity you will be volunteering for. You will
be contacted if you need to attend a training session.
* You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer with our
Volunteer Program.
* Persons age 16-18 years old may volunteer with a parents consent
(signature required) but are not allowed to work in direct contact
with the animals (per insurance).
* If you are under 16 years old, we have opportunities as described
below.
