LEARNING COHORT ON MONDAYS FEB. 25 + MAR. 25 + APR. 29 [10 AM – 12
PM]CREATING AGE-APPROPRIATE PRAYER EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN & TEENS
Based on the Prayer Lab at Recharge, this Learning Cohort has a
two-fold design. Spend the first half of each cohort getting away God
like Jesus did; “Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for
prayer” (Luke 5). Using various "prayer labs" to welcome and guide
you, spend time with God as you experiment, play, discover, pray,
explore, and reflect. Each lab includes Scripture and a tangible
prayer activity. Because these labs foster ideas to use in your own
life and ministry, spend the second half of the cohort discussing how
to adapt their underlying elements (see list below) in varying ways to
those in preschool through high school age.
* February: Facilitating Ancient & Modern Prayer Practices
* March: Engaging All Five Senses in Prayer
* April: Outdoor & Walking Prayer Explorations
Over 9 weeks, join Amy McGrew, a trained Spiritual Director, and other
children's and youth ministry leaders the last Monday of the month, to
spend active time with God while gaining tools/ideas for creating
age-appropriate hands-on prayer experiences for children and teens in
your ministry.
LEARNING COHORT IS FACILITATED BY AMY MCGREW. Since 1997, Amy's
created and developed interactive prayer experiences and activities to
allow people of all ages to tangilbly connect with and learn who God
is. Over 25 years ago, Amy embarked on a life-long commitment to
invest in students and their leaders. She’s been on staff in small
to mega churches—in children’s, middle school, high school and
college-age ministries. She has her M.A. in Youth Ministry from Asbury
Theological Seminary. As the Director of Training at Youth Leadership,
she plans and implements training events, conferences and their online
certification program. Amy also works as as an interim youth /
children’s director with InterServe Ministries in churches of
various denominations. For fun, she volunteers as a trained Spiritual
Director providing opportunities to notice and respond to God’s
invitations in the midst of everyday life.
_NOTE ABOUT CAPACITY_: Cohorts are limited in size because they are
intended for you to engage in conversations within a context of
safety, honesty and real life application through small, dynamic
learning communities which provide what you need for practical growth
in your life and ministry.
