Evictions-From all the Angles

Tue 10 December 2019

Ended

This training is intended for Carver County landlords and service providers. We will dissect the eviction (unlawful detainer process) from start to finish from three unique perspectives: the landlord, the tenant and the court. This session will cover why landlords file evictions (along with alternatives to filing), the logistics of filing an eviction correctly and the legal issues that might come up in an eviction. The tenant’s perspective will be covered including defenses to evictions and the type of settlement agreements that landlords tend to agree to. Last, the court’s perspective will be analyzed---how these cases are processed and how/why judges decide the way they do. Bio of facilitator: Mike Vraa is the Managing Attorney/Hotline Director at HOME Line.
