Workshop #1: Identification of Terrestrial Invasive Species; Learn how to identify common and early detection terrestrial invasives species and their look alikes. Identify pathways for invasives, and using the iNaturalist app.
Workshop #2: Discussions on Modern Issues in Natural Resources; Join us as we dig deeper into current issues facing Natural Resources Management and brainstorm together for solutions. Shifting gender norms, decline in hunting, social media, millennials, and cultural diversity are examples of relevant topics that cannot be ignored. After a short introduction from Women of Wildlife (WoW) participants will break into smaller groups to rotate through topics that will lead to a larger group discussion
Workshop #3: Minnesota North Shore Collaborative; The North Shore Forest collaborative is a cooperative effort between federal, state, tribal and local land management agencies and well as private organization and individuals. Our mission is to revitalize and maintain a healthy and functioning ecosystem along the North Shore of Lake Superior with emphasis on restoring and maintaining native trees and associated forest communities. Participants will carpool together. This tour will leave from the DECC at approximately 12:30 and return by 5:00 pm.
Workshop #4: UAV Workshop: Integrating Drones in 2019
It’s been more than 2 years since the commercial drone market has opened - where are we now and is it the time right for integrating drones into your operations? Throughout this workshop experts will discuss the technology, applications, and regulations, and what to expect whether you’re flying or hiring drone operators. And, don't miss the hands-on flight training!
