  What is Paul Bunyan Days? Since 1955, the town of Akeley, Minnesota has hosted Paul Bunyan Days - a weekend long celebration of the spirit of the Northwoods loggers whose long evenings of tall-tale telling created the strongest and largest lumberjack of them all, Paul Bunyan.  This is a family fun event with games, music, food, inflatables, and plenty of vendors.Head to downtown Akeley and pay tribute to everyone's favorite lumberjack with a Paul Bunyan look-alike contest, art show, minnow races, and more.Need to knowDon't miss the kids fishing tournament and parade which are both great highlights of the event.Did you know?The first story of the legendary Paul Bunyan to appear in print was published in Akeley, Minnesota in 1916.
