CONFERENCE OVERVIEW The 7th Annual Allina Health Sports Medicine Conference presented by Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists is intended to provide the sports medicine practitioner a comprehensive overview of the medical care and management of athletes. This year’s CONFERENCE WILL FOCUS ON SOCCER ATHLETES AND COMMON INJURIES INCURRED DURING PARTICIPATION. The content has been developed to encompass whole-person care of athletes with particular focus on the soccer athlete. Attendees will have opportunity to learn through didactic lecture and hands-on breakout sessions. OVERALL OBJECTIVES 1) Recognize key at-risk components for athletes with depression or substance abuse concerns. 2) Review current concussion rehabilitation and return to play considerations in SPORTS. 3) Appraise femoral acetabular impingement treatment and non-operative care options for soccer athletes. 4) Evaluate evidence and techniques for various non-operative/minimally invasive modalities used in physical therapy and non-operative orthopedics. 5) Assess current best practices for ACL and foot/ankle injuries in soccer athletes. 6) Analyze general health components affecting soccer athletes performance levels including nutrition, environment, and age.
