The SOUTH METRO SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUES WELCOMES ALL LEVELS OF
PARTICIPANTS. First and foremost, it is a recreational, fun league
where friends can play together and have a great time. The program
operates under the philosophy that each participant will have the
opportunity to participate in each game and develop skills. The main
focus is on having fun, sportsmanship and building new friends. League
consists of the following cities: Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan,
INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Prior Lake and Rosemount.Location: Practices will
be held in INVER GROVE HEIGHTS. Majority of the games will be played
in Burnsville or Bloomington.When: Tuesdays & Thursdays. Games are
Thursdays and practice on Tuesdays. Makeup games will typically be
Tuesdays. Practices will start late April/early May (depending on
weather). Game play will start early May with double-headers starting
the beginning of June (after kids are done with school). No
games/practices week of July 4. No weekends except for the mid-season
tournament (June 13-15) and the season-ending tourney (July 18-20) at
Burnsville. Equipment: The team will be provided with: bats, balls,
batting helmets and catcher gear. Every child will receive a uniform.
Each child needs to provide their own glove, cleats (no metal) or
tennis shoes. Your child may use their own bat and/or helmet but it
must be USSSA certified. Fielding masks are not required but highly
