Rhythm and the Impact of Insufficient Sleep presented by: Julie
Dahl, APRN, CNP She has practiced in sleep medicine for fifteen
years. She currently practices at RESPIRATORY CONSULTANTS WHICH IS A
PULMONARY AND SLEEP SPECIALTY CLINIC IN ROBBINSDALE. She is the
current president of the MN Sleep society. She has served as an
educational content writer for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
She previously served on the board of directors for the Society of
Behavioral Sleep Medicine and the MN Nurse Practitioners. Her
presentation is a review of how and why we sleep followed by an
examination of circadian-regulation and the numerous body systems
affected by inadequate, poorly-timed sleep with a focus on
shift-workers. 10-11 Mechanical Insufflatoin-Exsufflation For
Airway Clearance presented by: Marty Davig, RRT As a RESPIRATORY
THERAPIST HE HAS USED MOST COMMON AIRWAY CLEARANCE THERAPIES IN THE
COURSE OF PATIENT CARE. These therapies include Chest Physiotherapy,
oscillatory PEP valve (Flutter, Acapella, etc.) HFCWO (vest), tracheal
suction, CoughAssist. Also coughing techniques, manually assisted
cough, huff cough, etc. As a former representative for two HFCWO
companies (Advanced RESPIRATORY AND ELECTROMED INC.). He has provided
numerous product training on airway clearance therapies and
modalities. In his current role he provides training and education on
the CoughAssist to RT’s and other medical professionals. 11-11:15

Readmission Reduction Program: Challenges and Solutions presented by:
Jennifer Olson, BS, RRT, CTTS Jennifer received her BS at St.
Catherine University in 2010. She has been employed at the University
of Minnesota Medical Center since 2008. She helped co-create
University’s COPD Readmission Reduction Program and is currently
working as aChronic Pulmonary Disease Specialist. She received
certification as a Tobacco Treatment specialist at the Mayo Nicotine
Dependence Center. She is an advocate for patients with COPD and
provides comprehensive education, symptom management, and assists in
discharge planning. 12:15-1:15 LUNCH 1:15-2:15 Telehealth-Virtual
RT presented by: Curt Merriman, RRT, CPFT He has been a RESPIRATORY
THERAPIST SINCE 1979. He has worked as a staff therapist, a
supervisor, a manager of cardiopulmonary services and pulmonary
diagnostics, and he has worked in the home medical equipment industry.
He was one of the co-founders of rtNOW an RT telehealth service. He
has been involved in the MN Society for RESPIRATORY CARE (MSRC) since
1979, holding Sa variety of elected positions; President,
President-Elect, Vice President, Delegate, Secretary, Board of
Director, Legislative Affairs and various committee chairs and
committee member. AARC HOD Treasurer, AARC Pulmonary Disease Course
Presenter, AARC Spirometry Project Manager. 2:15-2:30 BREAK
2:30-3:30 Healing Partners Hand in Hand for Excellence presented
by: Pat Lang Once a volunteer, now the Health Information Center
Coordinator for PACER, Pat coordinates the F2F HIC, handling calls,
emails, workshops, web based trainings, publications, web content, and
presentations to medical professionals, to cooperate and legislative
decision makers, families and teachers. She is a contributing member
of MDH task force, Midwest Genetic Network, NORD and a volunteer for
HOPE Kids of MN. She was a a member of the Essentials of Modern
Medicine Task force and a representative on her children’s primary
care medical team to develop the goals and responsibilities for the
first care coordinator for kids with complex medical needs. She was on
the development team for the first employee affinity group for
families with disabilities at General Electric. There will be a light
breakfast provided during REGISTRATION, and lunch will be provided as
