WHAT'S BREWING? DOGTOWN AS A MIDDLE NEIGHBORHOOD: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIESIn this What's BREWING SERIES WE EXPLORE MIDDLE NEIGHBORHOODS -- communities that are neither declining nor rising rapidly in value.  They are poised in the MIDDLE AND COULD GO EITHER WAY.  Without the right kinds of community actions and investments, MIDDLE NEIGHBORHOODS COULD FALL INTO DECLINE AND CONTAGIOUS ABANDONMENT.  We focus here on the opportunities and challenges facing these NEIGHBORHOODS. What threats exist to the NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE COMING YEARS?  How can we leverage community assets to achieve a stronger NEIGHBORHOOD while insuring that each retains its distinctive character? Join us for a series of breakfast conversations to explore Middle Neighborhoods.  Each session will focus on a different middle neighborhood and include: * Background presentation by Dr. Todd Swanstrom of UMSL * A panel discussion featuring stakeholders who have played key roles in the community’s development * Group discussion to explore the future work to continually improve middle neighborhoods
