Do you know how to identify, understand, and respond to the signs of
MENTAL ILLNESS OR SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS IN A YOUNG PERSON? Do you
know how to help and support an adolescent who may be developing a
MENTAL HEALTH OR SUBSTANCE USE PROBLEM OR EXPERIENCING A CRISIS?On
September 22, St. Charles Borromeo Parish will host Youth Mental
Health First Aid, designed for adults who work with youth (primarily
ages 12-18) to help them identify and respond to signs of mental
illnesses and substance use disorders and focuses on early
intervention. This event is open to anyone, but is recommended for
those who work with young people, as well as for parents and
guardians.
We are asking for a donation on the day of the event if possible to
cover the cost of the event. However, St. Charles Borromeo Parish will
cover the donation for anyone who works with youth in our parish
(school teachers, PSR catechists, Scout leaders, athletics, or youth
group).
