No we aren’t canceling this month’s discussion. Join us for our
topic: “Can We Have a Courteous Conversation on Cancel Culture and
Not Get #Canceled?” As the pandemic has brought about a plethora of
opportunities for self-reflection, recent public discourse has seen a
rise in the practice of engaging in “cancel culture.” We’ll
explore this phenomenon and whether the internet, and we, are a source
of accountability towards virtue or a battleground of mob mentalities.
Who decides who can influence culture and who is banished from it?
Should anyone be “#canceled," for what, who decides, and on what
grounds? Is there redemption from cancel culture? Grab a brew, log
into Zoom, share your view, and lend an ear to others .
