Kids Day

This is a free community event held at Cahokia Mounds where kids of all ages can participate in hands-on activities  such as:  flintknapping, playing Indian games, griding corn, throwing spears with an atlatl, and making pinch-pots out of clay.  Get your free souvenir photo in the lobby at the TapSnap booth.  For a fee, you can decorate your own T-shirt.  The popular St. Louis Food Truck; The Cheese Shack, will be here with a variety of Grilled Cheese items.   There will be other demonstrations as well; such as animal track and pelt identification.  Through these hands-on activities and demonstrations, kids learn the importance of cultural preservation and about the ancient city, with its center right here in Collinsville.
