The St. Louis Regional Youth Employment Coalition (RYEC) invites you
to join us for a training on Motivational Interviewing. This TRAINING
IS INTENDED TO ENHANCE YOUR CAPACITY AND KNOWLEDGE IN WORKING WITH AND
FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. _Lunch will be provided as part of this
training. _Motivational interviewing is:
● A widely adopted strategy that uses collaborative counseling
approaches designed to help clients understand and use their internal
motivation to create positive change.
● Motivational interviewing is a person-centered communication
method that can help program participants access their internal
motivation for change. MI allows participants to identify their own
reasons for undertaking change and build their own personal
development plan accordingly.
Please join us to learn about developing and supporting intrinsic
motivators. Studies show that motivated clients — those who are
actively engaged in determining and pursuing personal goals — often
achieve higher self-sufficiency outcomes such as stable housing and
employment.
This training is part of the professional development opportunities
provided by RYEC. RYEC envisions greater racial equity in our region's
workforce. To achieve this mission, the coalition aims to increase
youth employability and to grow diverse talent pipelines.
