The annual FRIEDMAN LECTURE AND AWARDS ADDRESSES TOPICS RELATED TO
AGING AND RECOGNIZES CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CARE OF OLDER ADULTS. This
year's LECTURE WILL FEATURE A KEYNOTE FROM CHANCELLOR MARK
WRIGHTON, ADVANCING AGING RESEARCH AND EDUCATION AT WASHINGTON
UNIVERSITY: PREPARING FOR LONGER, PRODUCTIVE LIVES. Additionally,
the event will include the presentation of the Harvey A. & Dorismae
Hacker FRIEDMAN AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE TO OLDER ADULTS AND
THE ALENE & Meyer Kopolow Award for Geriatrics, Psychiatry, and

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
MARK WRIGHTON, PHD, CHANCELLOR AND PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY, WASHINGTON
UNIVERSITY
Mark Wrighton has a long-standing commitment to the issue of global
population aging. During his tenure as Chancellor of Washington
University, he has launched several key initiatives, including
establishing the Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging and introducing
aging as a major theme of the McDonnell International Scholars
Academy. At the 19th annual Friedman Lecture, Chancellor Wrighton will
discuss the challenges and opportunities of demographic shifts,
highlight Washington University’s research and educational efforts
regarding population aging, and reflect on past accomplishments and
future directions.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
The Eric P. Newman Education Center is located at 320 S. Euclid Ave,
St. Louis, MO 63110. Please utilize levels 6-7 of the Metro Parking
Garage located at 4560 Children’s Place on the corner with Taylor
Avenue. This garage also includes handicapped parking. Validation
tickets will be available for the Metro Garage.
The MetroLink and Bus Stop is the Central West End station. Ascend the
stairs or use the elevator to Euclid Avenue and turn right towards
EPNEC.
