The Nutcracker 2023

Join us 30 minutes prior to each show for holiday music by students from Allegro Music Studios! Clara, her sister Francine, and her family are preparing for their annual Christmas Eve holiday party. Clara's favorite Auntie Drosselmeyer makes a surprise entrance to the party, and begins to show the children her magic tricks and dancing dolls she has brought this year.  Auntie Drosselmeyer brings a special doll, the Nutcracker, for her favorite niece Clara. After the party and when the house is still and dark, Clara tiptoes back to the Christmas tree in search of her Nutcracker. She falls asleep with her new favorite doll as the clock strikes midnight, and suddenly frightening mice begin to scurry about. The mice steal her Nutcracker! A fight ensues between the mice and the toy soldiers, an evil Mouse Queen, and Clara's Nutcracker which has come to life! Clara saves her Nutcracker from the Mouse Queen by hitting the mouse with her shoe. The Nutcracker is so grateful she takes Clara on a magical journey, first through the Land of Dancing Snowflakes!  The journey continues into the Land of Sweets! In the Land of the Sweets the Nutcracker and Clara meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. The Nutcracker recounts to the Sugar Plum Fairy her great adventure and how Clara saved her life. They are then entertained by a wonderful array of guests from around the Land of Sweets who have come to honor the two for their bravery. After much dancing, the Sugar Plum Fairy says farewell to Clara and Clara finds herself once again asleep on her living room floor. She is still clutching her Nutcracker doll and is left wondering, was that all a dream?
