Join GRIFFIN FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY for a free EARTH DAY CELEBRATION! The event will feature children’s and adult activities and presentations throughout the day and all-ages concerts from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Freshly squeezed lemonade will be available for purchase from the Squeeze the Day NH lemonade truck while participants enjoy the music.The event will be held rain or shine. Weather permitting, activities will be held on the library grounds as well as indoors. Highlights include: ● Live raptor presentation by Tailwinds ● Wonderful World of Bats presentation ● Sensory activities and planting with local children’s book author Naomi Fredette  ● Storytime with Miss Greater Derry, Maddy Hawkes ● Make your own worms and dirt cup, nature journaling, dinosaur activities and Earth Day crafts ● Dinosaur story time walk for toddlers ● Announcement of the winning name in the Name-the-Dino fundraiser ● Friends of Griffin Free Public Library information table and raffle  ● Kid’s yoga led by Kid Executive Councilor Ben Webb and yoga enthusiast Hayden Kavner ● Music by Black Pudding Rovers and The Concord Coachmen Chorus Library Director Dan Szczesny will provide hourly historical tours of the library, parts of which were built in the 1870s and deeded to the Town of Auburn in 1893. Local historian Dan Carpenter will be available beginning at 1 p.m. to answer questions about Auburn and its past residents. Local author and Miss Greater Derry, Maddy Hawkes will be joined by Miss Auburn, Ella Denney to participate in activities and greet attendees.
