Back by popular demand, the Merrimack River Trail Triathlon will take
place this year on Sunday, September 11th with events beginning at 1
pm. The triathlon will include a 4K bike, 3K run, and finally a 2K
paddle. The bike and run portions of the race will occur entirely in
the beautiful cornfield right across the river from downtown Concord,
and the paddle will be on the Merrimack River. The family friendly
distances and scenic, safe course loops are intended to bring out all
levels of athletes and their friends! For the littlest, tenacious
athletes among us, therell be a mini fun run through the corn stalks!
The purpose of this triathlon is to bring awareness to the Merrimack
River Greenway Trail project which is led by our all-volunteer board
and supported by the City of Concord, and to showcase an area of
Concord that many have never seen before. This area is known as the
cornfield, and will be the location of the next phase of the MRGT. For
over a decade, the Friends of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail have
been paving the way (pun intended) for Concords very own greenway
trail and rail trail. When completed, the MRGT will be a key
connecting piece to the Granite State Rail Trail, which will span the
state of NH from Salem north to Lebanon. For Concord and its
surrounding communities, the trail will bring increased revenue in the
form of tourism and day visitors, and will provide a much-needed path
through the City that is universally accessible (paved), and will
foster the publics appreciation of Concords beautiful environment and
stunning surroundings. We'll see you then and there! Thank you for
your support! Event details and schedule 1 pm Kids' Corn Maze Fun Run
