We are extremely excited to announce that Matt Bell will be joining us
during our July MFA residency! His reading will take place in the
Rosamund Putnam Center for the Arts at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, July 17.
Matt Bell is the author most recently of the novel _Appleseed_

Book) and the craft book _Refuse to Be Done_
[https://www.mattbell.com/#/refuse-to-be-done/], a guide to novel
writing, rewriting, and revision. He is also the author of the novels
_Scrapper_ [https://www.mattbell.com/#/scrapper/]_ _and _In the House
upon the Dirt Between the Lake and the Woods_
[https://www.mattbell.com/#/in-the-house-upon-the-dirt-between-the-lake-and-the-woods/],
as well as the short story collection _A Tree or a Person or a Wall_
[https://www.mattbell.com/#/a-tree-or-a-person-or-a-wall/], a
non-fiction book about the classic video game _Baldur's Gate II_
[https://www.mattbell.com/#/baldurs-gate-ii/], and several other
titles. His writing has appeared in _The New York Times, Esquire, Tin
House, Fairy Tale Review, American Short Fiction, Orion_, and many
other publications. A native of Michigan, he teaches creative writing
at Arizona State University, where he directs the ASU Worldbuilding
Initiative.
