The Up North Orienteers of New Hampshire invite the public to come try orienteering at the 2023 Boulder Dash which will be held in Hollis, NH on Saturday and Sunday, May 6th and 7th. Saturday's orienteering will take place at the Silver Lake State Park with Sunday's orienteering occurring at the Beaver Brook Association.
Orienteering is a sport that involves navigating between points using a map and compass. Think of it as treasure hunting in the woods if you like. It is easy to learn and fun for all ages. Experienced orienteers will be on hand both days of the Boulder Dash to help newcomers learn the basics and try their first course. You can take part individually or as part of a group – it's a great activity for family or friends!
On Saturday, participants may register and start any time between 10:30 AM and 12:45 PM. On Sunday the registration and start times are from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM.
The Boulder Dash is a two-day national orienteering meet put on by the Up North Orienteers every other year. In addition to local recreational participants several hundred orienteers from around the country are expected to competing on advanced courses.
