Program Summary:
The goal of the Columbia University Certification of Professional Achievement Program is to provide qualified applicants the real-world health informatics training needed to implement, utilize, and improve EHRs and related health information technology. The curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in health informatics concepts and develops practical skills to be successful at the juncture between health care and information technology. The nine-month intensive non-degree, post-baccalaureate Certification of Professional Achievement Program is offered through Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons by the Department of Biomedical Informatics on the Columbia University Medical Center campus. It is comprised of four 3-point courses, with two courses in the fall term and two courses in the spring term. The program is structured to meet the needs of working professionals. The majority of the program is online with scheduled monthly in-person sessions.
