Maki NIENTAO IS A RISING JAZZ PIANIST FROM NYC, known for his dynamic improvisations, deep roots in Harlem/Washington Heights, and work with groups like Philip Harper's band and the free jazz quartet Kaze (with Satako Fujii). He's a Columbia University scholar (History major) who balances intense gigging at NYC clubs (Smalls, Mezzrow) with education, performing, and DJing for WKCR, honoring his grandfather's musical and academic legacy.
