Cultural performances and music, bright Japanese floral arrangements,
intricate Chinese art activities, and much more will fill the day from
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the National Museum
of Nuclear Science & History. The Sandia National Laboratories ASIAN
LEADERSHIP OUTREACH COMMITTEE AND MUSEUM PARTNER TO HOST THE 26TH
ANNUAL ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE DAY, celebrating
the cultural traditions, ancestry, native languages, and unique
experiences represented among ethnic groups from Asia and the PACIFIC.
Museum visitors will be mesmerized by tantalizing dance performances,
participate in hands-on activities such as origami, and observe
beautiful Ikebana floral arrangements. Visitors will also be able to
taste traditional Asian food samples provided by Talin Market. Umami
Moto Food Truck will have delicious Asian-Inspired cuisine for
purchase.
Through the continuing support of the Chinese Cultural Center and
Lin’s Martial Arts Academy, Albuquerque Chinese Happy Dance Group,
Albuquerque Chinese Folk Dance Ensemble, The Chinese American Citizens
Alliance Youth Dance Troupe, Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico,
Ichiyo School of Ikebana, Ikebana International Chapter 41, and BK
Taiko museum visitors will be treated to performances including
traditional dance performances, Chinese martial arts, Japanese Taiko
drumming and much more.
The event is included with paid Museum admission and can be purchased
