Beaded Adornment of the Birthstones.
Known as a Santa Fe artist who continually uses design sensibility to arrange her works of adornment, Claire Kahn brings her knowledge to exhilarating life. With careful attention to pattern and progression, she strings a mosaic made of cylindrical Japanese seed beads from which she conceptualizes (and crochets) a palpable expression to wear on the body.
Between the earth and the sky lives the human experience. The grace within us matures over time and evolves into our best selves. This year, Kahn explores the beauty of our very nature with a collection inspired by the birthstones. As the year turns, so will her pieces. On Friday, October 18th, 2019, she will introduce these works in Signs of Life, her ninth solo exhibition at Patina Gallery.
Signs of Life will open to the public at 131 W Palace Avenue, with an artist’s reception held from 5-7pm MST.
The artist’s selection of birthstone works will pull collectors in a different direction. Color will take the most precedence in her designs. Be prepared to experience the palpable splendor of her sumptuous, beaded chords in a new light.
