The Heart of ABQ 6.6K is a Route 66-inspired community walk/run
celebrating wellness, culture, and connection in the heart of
Albuquerque.
Event Overview
The Heart of ABQ 6.6K presented by New Mexico True is a unique
community walk and speed-walk celebration honoring 100 Years of
Central Avenue and historic Route 66, while bringing people together
in the heart of Albuquerque’s International District.
Hosted by the Juneteenth Renaissance Institute and organized in
partnership with Bosque Running Company, the Heart of ABQ 6.6K is a
family-friendly event celebrating community connection, culture, and
wellness. Participants will take part in a 6.6-kilometer walk/run
experience through the area while enjoying a lively atmosphere filled
with music, activities, and opportunities to connect with local
organizations and businesses.
The festival portion of the event will feature a special headlining
performance by Dee-1, the nationally recognized rapper, educator, and
motivational speaker known for his uplifting, community-driven hip-hop
and positive message.
Designed for everyone in the community — runners, walkers, families,
youth, and neighbors — this event invites Albuquerque to come
together for a day of movement, celebration, and unity in the Duke
City.
