What happens when “The Wheels on the Bus” hops on board with the
legendary sounds of Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, and Miles
Davis?East End Jazz is proud to announce the launch of “Tiny Toes &
The Jazz Crew,” a groundbreaking, interactive concert series
designed to bridge the gap between early childhood playtime and the
professional performing arts. This multi-generational experience
invites families to step into a world where nursery rhymes blend
seamlessly with jazz standards, proving that great music knows no age
limit.
“We wanted to create a space where the next generation doesn’t
just listen to music, but feels it,” says Iris Ornig, Director of
East End Jazz. “By pairing familiar melodies with sophisticated jazz
arrangements, we’re inviting families to participate in the rhythm,
movement, and spontaneous joy that defines this art form.”
This isn’t your average performance. The series transforms playtime
into a high-level artistic exchange, allowing children to experience
jazz through the lens of play. Led by a “Jazz Crew” of
professional musicians from Long Island and NYC, the ensemble serves
as both performers and mentors, guiding the audience through a journey
of syncopation, scat-singing and instrumental discovery.
Co-sponsored with the Bridgehampton Museum and East End Jazz.
