Oftentimes the idea of yoga with a chair is thought of as a remedial
practice, but there are actually many ways we can use the chair to
help us find more extension and more challenge with different
relationships to gravity. The yoga wall as well as the chair also
provide great opportunities to make certain challenging poses,
especially inversions, more accessible. Join Align Brooklyn teacher
Cat Murcek for this unique 2- hour workshop exploring some of the
myriad ways we can use these two fantastic props to go deeper and
explore new poses you might not have tried before! Some prior
experience on the yoga wall is recommended.

Cat is a Brooklyn-based dance artist and yoga instructor at the 500-hr
level. Cat first connected with yoga in Boston after receiving a B.A.
in Intl. Economics from Franklin College of Switzerland. What began as
a mode to supplement her training in modern dance quickly became a
vital tool for maintaining tranquility and groundedness in her life.
She completed her 200-hr YTT in the Yogaworks method with Natasha
Rizopoulos in 2009, and her 300-hr with Alison West of Yoga Union. In
addition, she has studied Yoga for Backcare and Scoliosis under Alison
West, Elise Browning Miller and Deborah Wolk, and also Alexander
technique for Yoga Teachers with Witold Fitz-Simon. These trainings in
addition to her somatic experience from dance have infused Cat’s
teaching with an appreciation for alignment within flow and an eye for
the therapeutic potential of yoga.
