The White Review 23 New York Launch: Margo Jefferson and Nana Adusei-Poku

What is the role of literature in a political climate in which we are convinced one side is advantaged at the cost of others? For the New York launch of THE WHITE REVIEW NO. 23, Margo Jefferson is joined by Nana Adusei-Poku to discuss privilege, class and literature. There will be copies of THE WHITE REVIEW NO. 23 (containing an interview with Margo Jefferson) on sale, and drinks.
The event takes place at Community Bookstore, Brooklyn, on 29 November at 7 p.m.
Margo Jefferson is a Pulitzer Prize winning critic and the author of NEGROLAND and ON MICHAEL JACKSON. NEGROLAND won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction, The Bridge Prize, The Heartland Prize and was shortlisted for the Baillie Gifford Prize. She lives in New York and teaches in the Writing Program at Columbia University.
Nana Adusei-Poku is a transdisciplinary scholar, curator, writer and educator. Adusei-Poku has been firmly committed to the study of art and scholarship from the Black diasporas, as well as the contemporary experience of black subjects. She will start next spring as the Visiting Professor Art History of the African Diaspora at Cooper Union.
