TRAINING SERIES: Session 1: Top HR Issues Business Owners Face – and
How to Solve Them This workshop will be presented by Jeff Nikiel from
Paychex. This seminar provides you with a high level overview of the
top 10 human resource-related issues experienced by businesses today.
Topics include job descriptions, Form I-9, employee classifications,
payment for overtime hours, handbook policies, workplace harassment,
the Family and Medical Leave Act, health care reform,
employment-at-will, and anti-discrimination. Date: August 14, 2019 –
9am – 10:30pm Session 2: The Employee Lifecycle: Interviewing,
Hiring and What Comes Next This workshop will be presented by Robert
Kropczynski from Complete Payroll This session will discuss effective
hiring practices and identify essential steps and best practices for
an effective hiring process. We will also discuss progressive
discipline and how it can be used to deal with employee performance
issues and policy violations. We’ll also review some legal issues
employers may encounter with respect to terminations. Date: August 20,
2019 – 9am – 10:30pm Session 3: Managing Five Generations in the
Workplace This workshop will be presented by Greg Lindberg from the
U.S. Small Business Administration Multiple generations of workers are
currently in the workplace and they all have different working styles.
In this program participants will learn and understand the differences
in generations and how managers and business owners can leverage these
differences for increased effectiveness. Date: August 27, 2019 – 9am
– 10:30pm Session 4: Creating a Positive Working Environment This
workshop will be presented by Greg Lindberg from the U.S. Small
Business Administration Creating a positive working environment is
imperative to the success of all businesses big and small. Employees
who are happy and engaged produce double the output of employees who
are not. This program will teach you ways to create a positive
environment and keep you employees performing at a high level. Date:
