Reminders:1. All hikes start at 7:15am sharp, so please arrive on time
to hike with the group.
2. This is an exercise hike so we walk at a brisk pace. In order to
stay with the group you need to be able to walk at least[masked] mph.
If you prefer to enjoy the sites (and it is a beautiful location) or
walk at a slower pace, you are still welcome to join us. I will ask,
though, that you pick up a trail map at the beginning as you may be
walking on your own for part of the outing.
The Hike
We will briskly walk 4 miles/1.25 hours through this beautiful
location with New York's largest beech tree, deer, ponds, ancient
woods, and marshland.
It's amazing the animals that are out when we are the first people out
on the trails for the day. We've seen deer, raccoons, a beaver,
countless chipmunks, plus bluejays, cardinals and other pretty "I
don't know what they were" birds. :)
Check out our one-eared friend we've seen a few times now -

Walking on these damp grass and stone trails in the morning, it's good
idea to wear hiking shoes.
We will depart promptly at 7:15am.
If you have any questions the day of the hike, contact Connie at
312/919-6620.
Hike to Health (H2H) SERIES INFORMATION:
Huffing and puffing on some our hikes? Pretending to take a lovely
photo on the 400 steps at Whirlpool when all you really want is to
catch your breath? Ready to take your fitness to the next level? Maybe
lose a few pounds and shrink a clothing size?
How about just enjoy some great company on a beautiful walk to start
your day?
If so, hope you will join us!
Weekday Sunrise Hikes
These are 1-1.5 hour, 3-4 mile, fast-paced sunrise hikes/power walks
each weekday morning at some of the local beautiful nature locales.
Locations
For most of the year, we alternate locations every week between
Reinstein Woods and Stiglmeier Park. In the winter, we walk at
Reinstein Woods only, as the boardwalks at Stiglmeier Park become icy.
Non-hosted Hikes
There are some weekdays when I will be out of town so won’t be
available to lead this. As long as I see one of our "regulars" who
knows the paths attending, the hike will stay posted. Otherwise the
outing will be cancelled.
Attendance
Come to as few or as many of these as you would like. Just sign up on
the days you plan on coming so I know to look for you.
Weekend Hike Suggestion
This group, as well as other Meetup groups, typically have longer and
sometimes more challenging hikes on the weekends, so I encourage those
H2H’ers to take part in at least one hike per weekend as well.
