INTRODUCTION TO MIG WELDING
TWO SESSIONS
MONDAY 2/19 AND TUESDAY 2/20, BOTH FROM 7:00-9:00 PM
THIS CLASS WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH STEPS FOR SUCCESSFUL WELDING WITH
THE METAL INERT GAS WELDING RIG. PRACTICE USING THE MIG WHICH COMBINES
DC ELECTRIC ARC AND A CONTROLED WIRE FEED TO FUSE METAL. COMPLETE A
SMALL WELDED PROJECT, AND AT THE END OF THIS SESSION, YOU WILL BE
QUALIFIED AS A MAKER - ABLE TO ACCESS AND USE THE FOUNDRY'S METALSHOP
DURING SUPERVISED OPEN HOURS WITH A COMMUNITY *MEMBERSHIP.
MUST BE 18+
CLASS SIZE: MIN 2/MAX 6
*MEMBERSHIPS
Basic membership allows makers to access the metalshop in addition to
our other makerspaces (wood, textile and tech) for a total of 20 hours
per month. Each space has its own safety or orientation session.
Members complete a safety class in the Metal and Wood Shops, or free
orientations in the Textile and Technology Labs to gain access. More
