New Planets w/ Strange Standard make their Buffalo Iron Works debut on
Friday May 2nd, 2025! New Planets “Other-Worldly Psychedelic Party
Music” “Talking Heads meets Gorillaz on Safari” Formed in 2019,
New Planets has created its own sound with its futuristic blend of
psychedelic funk meets experimental dance. Powerful words over even
more powerful rhythms, the band leaves few sonic territories
uncharted. New York based but world wide sounds. The musical vision of
Bandleader/Bassist/Vocalist Angelo Paradiso (Big Mean Sound Machine,
Donna the Buffalo), joined by Trombonist/Vocalist Alicia Aubin (Big
Mean Sound Machine), and Vocalist/Percussionist Cha Cha (Mosaic
Foundation), the band has a rotating cast of singers and players
making up the 7-8 piece outfit. Emmett Scott (Felix Free, Big Mean
Sound Machine) and Gabe Bandford (Madska) on Keys, Jason Shegogue (The
Analog Sons, G13) on Guitar, Tom Gilbert (Donna the Buffalo, Jim
Lauderdale) and Aaron Fumarola (Maddy Walsh) on Drums. Mark Karlsen
(Thousands of One, Strong Maybe) on Saxophones/Woodwinds and Miami
based Fabi Patino (Fabi World Music) on Vocals and Percussion. Members
of New Planets have worked with, and shared members with Donna the
Buffalo, Big Mean Sound Machine, John Brown’s Body, Jimkata, Jim
Lauderdale, Mosaic Foundation, The Analog Sons, Jazz is PHSH, Max
Childs, Afrobeta, Felix Free and Rocketeers, Suenalo, Maddy Walsh and
the Blind Spots, Fabi World Music, Thousands of One, Madska, The Comb
Down, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and many more… “Blood
Diamonds” the band’s debut record, was released in October of
2024, and was featured on SiriusXM Best of 2024 Bunny Radio. Buffalo
