Join us for a restorative, early morning hike where you'll experience
the calming effects of being outdoors and release the tensions of your
body and mind. The busier we get the more important it is to reclaim
some time for quiet. Immerse yourself in nature and find your moment
of inner relaxation. Spirit Walks are guided by experienced
facilitators, Patty Morrissey and Judith Van Hekken. No prior
experience is necessary. We walk at an easy pace, but you must be able
to walk for 60-90 minutes on moderate, hilly terrain. During the
walking meditation, you'll be practicing silence followed by a break
to share and reflect on the experience with the group.
Bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes. Light snacks will be
provided.

In a recent Harvard Business Review article, "The Busier You Are, the
More Quiet Time You Need
[https://hbr.org/2017/03/the-busier-you-are-the-more-you-need-quiet-time]"
the authors recommend nature walks as a way to carve out some quiet
time. "You need not be a rugged outdoors type to ditch the phone and
go for a simple two-or-three-hour jaunt in nature. In our own
experience and those of many of our clients, immersion in nature can
be the clearest option for improving creative thinking capacities.
Henry David Thoreau went to the woods for a reason."
