This 'by-donation' class is for modern city dwellers interested in
deepening their Yoga practice by learning traditional esoteric aspects
of Hindu Yoga. If you are a spiritual seeker wishing to learn
authentic techniques that might serve your spiritual growth, improve
emotional intelligence, and detox your mind body and spirit - join
us!It is no secret that living in New York takes a toll on our
emotional, spiritual and physical health. The modern Yoga's trend
focuses on the "gymnastics" aspect of Yoga and is extremely limited in
its scope, but, still falsely advertises the promise of traditional
Yoga's scientifically proven therapeutic benefits for mental clarity,
stress-resistance, awakening, and pristine mental health. We all want
the best modalities for living our life to the fullest, but modern
Yoga as a stand-alone practice is like treating yourself to a nice
appetizer, it gets the body going, but it lacks the required
nourishment found in the full meal. If you are the type of person that
wishes to rise above mere body fitness and elevate your
knowledge-base, instincts and lifestyle to operate on a higher level
of consciousness ie. optimal mental health, larger energetic fuel
tank, and open your mind to new levels of regulation of your emotions,
more awareness to help foster a positive attitude filled with
abundance, gratitude and grace, not to mention reduction of
fear-based-responses which lead to a profound boost in creativity,
spontaneity and improvement in making life decisions, this group is
definitely for you.
The class is led by me, Alexander Litvak, and advanced-level
practitioner, meditator, and secular Buddhist. For more about me,

In every class, you can be sure I will introduce and explain
foundational Yoga philosophy and psychology that lead to Yoga's
original aim of self-Realization and awakening. Themes like
Patanjali's Eightfold Path, Kundalini Yoga chakra balancing, and best,
most researched Yoga and Buddhist techniques touted in the West for
healthy modern lifestyles.
The class is donation-based and 90 minutes in length to get the full
experience of what it means to "get high on your own supply" ie.
Prana(breath/energy).
First 10 to 20 minutes of class is the "dharma" portion, the what,
where, why, who, and how, the next hour is devoted to
Pranayama(breath/Energy) work, concentration techniques, sense
withdrawal, mindfulness practices, and most widely known Hindu chants.
The last 10 minutes are devoted to sitting or lying down mindfulness
meditation.
