THIS 54-YEAR-OLD TRADITION OF WEBSTER, NY WAS STARTED BY JIM MAY, FORMER ENGLISH TEACHER, IN WEBSTER. JIM MAY STARTED THIS EVENT AS A PRACTICE RUN FOR HIS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM, AS A WAY FOR THEM TO GET A WORKOUT ON THANKSGIVING DAY. AS THE YEARS PROGRESSED, THE EVENT GREW TO WHAT IT IS TODAY. JIM MAYS FORMER CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER AND THEN MULTI YEAR WINNER OF TROT, DAVE BOUTILLIER, TOOK OVER THE REINS OF THE RACE IN THE LATE 90S UNDER HIS RACE DIRECTING COMPANY, YELLOWJACKET RACING. EACH YEAR THIS RACE REMINDS DAVE AND MANY OTHER FORMER WEBSTER RESIDENTS OF THEIR YOUTH AND RUNNING THE EVENT ANNUALLY. Strollers, Dogs, & Headphones are NOT permitted on course!! Please note: You must have a bib to participate. It is bad form and considered banditting if you do not have a bib. Please just don't do it. It puts the entire event, its insurances, permits and other athletes at risk. YOUR (IN PERSON) RACE REGISTRATION INCLUDES * Electronic RFID timing * Your choice of a custom tote bag, hoodie (If registered before August 1st), crewneck sweatshirt (If registered before October 1st), or short sleeve t-shirt (If registered before November 1st), all registrants after November 1st will receive a custom tote bag, while supplies last * Youth Size Crewneck Sweatshirts will be Grey and Color on all items is subject to change due to availability * Post-race food for all participants * Complimentary Shuttle Bus Service * Live Text and Email results as you finish (you must sign up for results notifications to track a runner) * Finisher Medal to all finishers * Digital Finisher Certificate YOUR VIRTUAL RACE REGISTRATION INCLUDES * Your choice of hoodie (If registered before August 1st), crewneck sweatshirt (If registered before October 1st), or short sleeve t-shirt (If registered before November 1st), all registrants after that will receive a custom tote bag, while supplies last * Youth Size Crewneck Sweatshirts will be Grey and Color on all items is subject to change due to availability * Finisher Medal * Shipping of the above items to your provided address. There is no day-of registration. Please plan accordingly. _ By registering for this event you are acknowledging that the date, time, location, and distance of the race may be changed, switched to virtual, or canceled at any time as deemed necessary by the Race Directors due to circumstances beyond their control.
