When it comes to rock, there aren't many greater names than Deep
Purple. The British group formed in 1968, and have been bursting
eardrums ever since. Alongside fellow Brits Led Zeppelin and Black
Sabbath they practically defined what we now call 'hard rock' with
albums like Machinehead and tracks including 'Smoke on the Water'.
