Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully

Sun 26 March 2017

We are alive; therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence and yet very few of us have really come to terms with it. Through Buddha’s insight into death and dying, we can develop an awareness of our own mortality in a way that will totally enrich and transform our life. We will come to understand what happens when we die and learn to face our own death and help others die with grace, clarity and fearlessness. Everyone of us has experienced, or will experience, the loss of someone close to us. We will be introduced to methods that Buddha taught for transforming loss into wisdom, and we will learn about a very special Buddhist practice, called powa, or transference of consciousness, which we can engage in on behalf of those who have died.Feb 26 – The Buddhist Understanding of Death and Dying March 5 – The Best Preparation:  A Meaningful Life March 12 – Working with Grief and Loss March 19 – Blessing Empowerment March 26 – Helping Others at the Time of Death COST: $15 per class (free for members)
