Angelica Women's Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, will present
a concert that features medieval pieces from collections in sacred
places along pilgrimage routes, such as the Codex Calixtinus, from the
Cathedral of Santiago in Compostela. Also featured are contemporary
works: Zebulon M. Highben's "And Miriam Sang," a haunting celebration
of Israel's deliverance from Egypt; Eriks Esenvalds's "Stars," a
dreamlike journey to heaven with special effects. Joining Angelica are
guest artists Rex Benincasa on percussion and psaltery and Tomchess on
oud and ney. Suggested donation: $20; $10 Seniors/Students. This
concert is also performed on Sunday, June 4th, 3 pm, at the Church of
St. Vincent Ferrer, 869 Lexington Ave., at E. 66th St., NYC.
