ECRJC Certificate Two-Day Training on Circles and Conferencing

This two day TRAINING WILL BE FACILITATED BY DINA THOMPSON, Board President of the Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition and Professor of the Restorative Justice Course at the Univeristy at Buffalo.  Ms. Thompson is an educator, restorative justice trainer and facilitator, youth leader, and parent and community outreach coordinator in Buffalo, New York. She has spent the past five years educating and implementing Restorative Justice Policies throughout Erie County. As an educator in Restorative Justice at the University of Buffalo - School of Social Work, she works tirelessly preparing students to better serve our communities using the RJ skills taught in class. As a licensed trainer with Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition she serves as Board President and has participated in training over two hundred community member, assisted in piloting several Restorative Justice Programs in local schools, and presented to many organizations and judicial system on using RJ as an effective and peaceful response to crime and misconduct. Presently, Dina serves the Parent and Community Outreach Coordinator at Enterprise Charter School where she uses her talents to build positive school culture between students, families, and school staff. This two day training is for those who are interested in learning about Restorative Justice and Restorative Justice Practices. This training will provide participants with an extensive understanding of what restorative practices and restorative justice are.  After the training, you will be able to implement the circle and conferencing process, identify different types of circles, and conduct various circles  It will include: - A thorough history and introduction of Restorative Practices and Restorative Justice - Video examples  - Thorough process descriptions of circle types and the process - Role Plays and Practices of Circles and Role Plays - Legal discussion in regards to restorative conferencing - Feedback and Support All participants will be certificated in circle practice and circle conferencing.   SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THIS TRAINING ARE AVAILABLE: Please contact ecrjc567@gmail,com for more information.
