Buffalo has a strong but aging culture of philanthropy. It's time for the next generation to step up. First, let's get to know each other.
This month, Next Generation United and Buffalo Arts Studio will co-host a conversation with Daniel Galas. Daniel is primarily known in Buffalo for his small linocut print business "Buffalo Architectural Prints" that he and his wife own and operate. Aside from making linocut prints, Daniel focuses on drawing and painting from direct observation and creating a large scale interactive sculptures and installations. Daniel had a solo show at Buffalo Arts Studio in 2013, painted a mural sponsored by the Albright-Knox Public Art Initiative in 2016, created the poster for the Elmwood Festival of the Arts last year, exhibited two 16' high painted cardboard sculptures of his twin boys at Box Gallery this winter, and is in the process of making a 100' long dragon sculpture on the Journeys End's urban farm expected to be completed in 2018.
Each month, we feature a new bar/restaurant/venue in a re-emerging neighborhood. Wings and beer are great for Sundays, but we want to shine a light on the innovators taking us off the beaten path.
Admission is free.
