Join our tour guides as they lead you by LANTERN LIGHT THROUGH THIS
CIRCA 1820 CEMETERY, where you will meet six characters in period
costume. Through the captivating stories of these former residents of
PINE PLAINS, told in soliloquy and in song, you will learn about their
lives and about the history of this rural community and the world
beyond. A fun and educational event celebrating the 220th anniversary
of the PINE PLAINS Free Library, with help from the Little Nine
Partners Historical Society and the Stissing Theatre Guild.

No, although it is recommended. We will have a master check-in list at
the event.
HOW LONG IS THE TOUR?
The tour is about 1 hour long.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Please dress appropriately for the weather and the terrain, as this is
an outdoor event in an old cemetery with uneven ground. We recommend
wearing warm clothing and rubber-soled shoes or sneakers. If rain is
in the forecast, please remember to bring an umbrella.
IS THERE A RAIN DATE?
No. We will have a pop-up tent next to the CEMETERY OFFICE WHERE A
MODIFIED TOUR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THE EVENT OF EXTREME WEATHER
CONDITIONS.
IS THE TOUR SCARY?
These tours are historical in nature and not meant to be scary.
However, being in an old cemetery at night could be scary for some
people. Also, Evergreen Cemetery has resident buzzards who fly home
here to roost every evening, which could be either unsettling or cool
depending on your point of view.
CAN I PAY BY CHECK ONLINE?
At this time, only credit cards are accepted for online orders.
DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?
We can only accommodate walk-ins if there is room on the tour. Payable
