Learn practical information and skills to bond with your NEWBORN
THROUGH RESPONSIVE CAREGIVING AND PLAY. The first months of your
baby’s life can be as bewildering as they are magical. This class
will help you understand the world of the newborn, easing its
challenges while fostering a deeper appreciation for this unique and
wonderful time of life.
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
* Understanding your newborn’s cues
* Soothing techniques and co-regulation
* Creating sustainable routines
* Supporting early sleep
* Getting to know your baby’s temperament
* Playing and caring with baby to support attachment and development
This class is geared towards primary caregivers of any identity
expecting babies in the next 3 months, or with newborns up to 8 weeks
old. Babies are welcome and encouraged to attend!
MELINA GAC LEVIN, M.S.ED.
Melina is an infant and toddler developmental specialist with over a
decade of experience working with families and children. Her passion
is supporting young children and their families to find joy and
comfort in themselves, each other and their community. She is enjoying
experiencing things firsthand as the mother to an active and curious
toddler.
Melina holds a dual Masters in Infant, Toddler and Family Development
and Early Childhood General & Special Education from Bank Street
College of Education. She is certified to teach children yoga through
Asana Alphabet, and trained in infant massage through Loving Touch
International. Melina has presented workshops at Bank Street’s
Infancy Institute and at the NYSAIS Diversity and Equity in Curriculum
Conference. She is an adjunct faculty member at Bank Street where she
teaches World of the Infant.
